Creating Word 2000 Mail Merge file with VB.NET

Hi...

I've been hunting high and low trying to find any bits of code on how to create a word mail merge file using vb.net. I would have exported the data from my app as an xml file and have word use that as the mail merge source file, but word 2000 doesn't have that ability. From what I can tell Word 2002 and up does...
I want the app to be able to export the selected data for a Mail Merge through Word 2000. Does anyone know how I can create a file that Word 2000 would accept as a Mail Merge source file?
