Hello all

I have created a Word template that has very specific styles to be used in creating documents. I have protected the document so that users cannot create or modify styles, or manually format documents.

My problem is that while users can create a List of Figures, they cannot create a Table of Contents when the protection is activated. Is there a way for users to create a TOC when protection is activated? I cannot find a style to create to help with this either.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

If the document is always to have a TOC, why not include it in the template?

Alternatively, if the user can choose whether the document is to have a TOC, you'll need to either:
. put an uprotected section at the start of the document so that the TOC can be inserted there; or
. use a formfield or the like to solicit a response as to whether a TOC should be added/updated and use that to drive the TOC's generation.

Cheers

Thank you macropod! I was making this way too difficult! The answer was too obvious, I guess. Thanks very much....
