I am looking for a method to create and deploy generic, reusable functions on multiple databases across multiple SQL servers. For example, what I would like to do is to provide a wrapper for the scripts I have for doing things such as searching for a given text string within all stored procedures, automatic generation of insert/update/delete statements for a given table, etc.
While scripts such as these are simple, I tend to use them frequently. Therefore, it would be nice to be able to have a centralized method of wrapping these "system-level" scripts into functions or stored procs that could be used on any database on any server. What I do not want to do is have to deploy any updates individually to every database on every server within the corporation.
Is this client-server model acheivable at the database-level? If this is a pipe dream, then just let me know.
