Creating child domains - HELP

ok I have DNS up and running and created new zone for child (sub) domain. everything there is ok as DNS event log shows updates from DC was successfull.

when running dcpromo I get

Operation Failed
AD could not create cn=childdomain cn-partition cn configuration dc=domainname

DSA operation unable to proceed because of DNS lookup error

Disjointed from domainname

any ideas lads?
