creating a start/finish form

i would like to create a form that allows you to put in specific dates and then produeces a report for that period of time.
the form should have the follwing headings
begining date=..............
finish date=................
view report

i can see this on the examples databases that come with access. but would really like to know how its done.
could anyone help
 
You can reference a control on a form with

forms!formname!controlname

Put this reference in the criteria for the query on which your report is based, i.e.

between forms!formname!startdate and forms!formname!enddate

That is all there is to it. Keep in mind that the form needs to be open and have values in it when the report is run. Mike Rohde
