This should be really easy, but it is not producing the expected results. I want to create a sorted table from a query. The fields are selected and marked appropriately in the query. The preview is sorted correctly. But the resulting table is not sorted correctly. Running the same query multiple times, overwriting the table, SOMETIMES sorts it correctly, but it is not consistent. I am not in the table when the query runs. This is Access 2007. There are almost a million records in the file. what is the trick?

the resulting table is not sorted correctly
A table can't be sorted, but a query.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Sorry, but that did not help.

A table can be sorted manually. A query has sort options. It does not make sense that a table cannot be sorted.

Any other ideas?

Tables are not stored with any sort order. (PHV already said this).

What are you really hoping to accomplish?

I need to have a sorted table in order to export the records in a specific order.

So, export a sorted query !
