I am experiencing the same problem as discussed in thread 181-780031. I would like to create a form that leaves open text boxes where a user can input criteria (ie last name) and it will pull up all of the records with that last name. I have been able to come close to the desired result by clicking on the "Filter by form" button, then typing in the info that I want. After that I have to hit the "Apply Filter" button. I would like for it to do this without having to use the toolbars.

Any suggestions?

I have done this by using a query as the record source, then using the field(s) on the form as selection criteria in my query. I use the Build function for ease of adding form field names (ex. = Forms![Project Log]![Log subform].Form![Date])

If you leave the forms open as you're coding the query the forms will show up under 'Loaded forms', then you can use subform field easily also, as in the example above.
