Hi All,
Consistent problems with my ISP's DNS server have me considering hosting my own DNS server in the DMZ. Also in my DMZ are my mail server and web server. Both of which people can not reach when my ISP server goes down. I don't want to have people querying that external DNS server that I will create for my internal computer DNS information.
Can I simply:
1. Assign the new DNS server an external web address.
2. Put the DNS in a workgroup with a name different to the domain.
3. Manually enter the A and PTR records for the mail and web servers.
Or is there more configuration that needs to happen ?
