Hi I have a small home network with a HP Netserver LC3 I want to create a domain and setup active directory, more just to explore and learn than for any practical purpose.
The server and network pc's come off a switch which also has a adsl router connected to it.
Do I have to have a real domain or can it be just a name like home.com.
Any other tips about setting up active directory welcome :)

Hi,

No you don't have to have a real internet domain. When you run DCPROMO Windows will setup an internal DNS server for you. This domain can be whatever you want.

Get a good book :)

Thanks, yes I bought a good book yesreday after posting.
