Hi,

I'm trying to use the CreateObject to instantiate an OCX control. But I dont know where can I find the Class ID of the OCX. Can someone give me a clue where to look?

Thanks

Daniel

Did u look at the Registry? The Registered OCX will have an entry in the Registry

You would typically need the ProgID of your OCX, not the ClsID. To find it, look in the registry under the HKeyClassesRoot branch, scroll down until you find it.

I think I would search...

That's typically a lot of scrolling ;-)

True...

And you can always press the letter that it starts with...

I guess it's just that Ctrl-F has become my best friend for many apps ;-)

If it takes a second to use Ctrl-F where it takes a minute to search manually... I can save hours a day (on a slow day :p)

Thank you all for your tips! :D

I used to place the control in Ms Access to find out the Prog ID. Its a lot easyer this way!

Thanks!
