Create form or report by state

I would like to create a form that produces a report based on 1 criteria --- the state.

When I say state I am referring to one of the 50 states in America.

the reports should be based on info from 2 tables :

tblcustomer and tblcontact

the table tblcontact has a field named states which holds the actual state data.

please help i am being swarmed...
 
One thing you can do is create a query combining both tables. In the criteria of the State feild enter something like [Please Enter State]. Something to keep in mind ---- how are states listed, ie, full name or abbreviated?? You have to maintain consistancy in order to be able to show all states or anything. For this reason, I have a separate table with all of the states and their respective abbreviations and use a drop down to enter on a form. This way they should all be spelled the same.
