CREATE APPEND QRY TO TBL WITH LOCKED AUTONUMBER?

Ladies and Gents,
Is there a way to append data to a tbl with an autonumber assigned (destination tbl) that will reset when you delete the data and append new data? I need a table that I can append data to, then delete it while the table maintains autonembers 1-10. Thank you in advance.

Does the field have to be an Autonumber or just a value that increments for the records that are appended?

Any set parameter value would be fine. I intend to split a tbl into sep tbls with these consistent values. Thanks.

You can create a sequence number by using either DCount() or a subquery. You haven't provided enough specific information for anyone to provide a specific solution.
