HI

I have a crystal report which would be exported to word document.I am wondering is there any facility in crystal so that I can create an index for teh word document and update the pagenumbers.

The prototype may be like this

RH Index
chapter 1 ............... pagenumber
chapter 2 ................pagenumber
chapter 3 ................pagenumber
GH chapter
Details
Chapter details

The report output should be lie this

Index
chapter 1 ...........1
chapter 2 ............2
chapter 3 ............2

chapter1
chapter1 detilas and so on....

Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance

It would make more sense to do it in Word itself I think.

You might be able to do something with a crosstab or a subreport in your report header. But Crystal doesn't give you control over page numbers.

It helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.

There is an article on the Business Objects website on developing a Table of Contents in the report header, but it is peppered with serious warnings, as it entails changing registry keys.

You could do it with arrays if you were willing to have the index in the report footer.

HI all,

I firstly thank for your help.
Here goes the answers for the questions.
Can we automate it in Word?

The version we are using is crystal 9.0.
I want to display the page numbers as well.

I have seen the business object article earlier however i want it in report header.

I want to display it in word rather than pdf.

The business ojbect article is specifically for a TOC in the report header.
