Here's the deal - Exchange 2000 with up to date patches, mixture of Outlook 2000 & 2003 clients.

I need to be able to create a folder containing individual user calendars. In the past (with I think 5.5 and Outlook 98), I could drag the calendar to my desktop creating a link, then put the link in a public folder - job done. Seems I can't do this now - Outlook throws up a bizarre message about Internet Explorer (?) not supporting synchronising of this type of URL.

I don't particularly want to go the route of training people to open other users folders, so any ideas ??

Why not just use a Public folder?

Hi Lander

Exactly what I'm trying to do, but I'm stuck - if I copy calendars to a Public Foder thay don't synchronise, just create a 'snapshot' copy of how they are - that's why I was trying to create a link.

Sorry to be thick, but how would you do this ??

Thanks for the prompt reply

MD

PS - have a star anyway....

How many users are we talking about here? You could have them use a single public folder for all their calendar events among them, or, create a public folder that then contains their own calendar for each of them.

Hello again

the organisation is divided into multiple working groups, each of 15 -20 people. The idea is for each time to be able to see the appointmnnets of each other team member so that they can organise themselves, meetings etc.

What I'm trying to do is for each individual to manage their own calendars but be able to see all other team members calendars to that they can alocate work on an availablity basis. I guess that your second option is the one I'm looking for.

Thanks

It seems you have two choices:

1 - Have each group share their calendar with all other members of the group and then have everyone open everyone elses' calendar.

2 - Use public folders for everyone to manage their own calendar within.
