CRC errors when sending email attachment

I have a PTP circuit with Cisco routers on both ends. When I send an email with a .doc attachment from point A to point B, I am getting CRC errors on point B and my email times out without sending. This only happens with .doc attachments and possibly .xls. Size of the attachment doesn't matter because I can send a 60k .txt file and it goes through just fine. Whereas a 20k .doc file fails.

Any ideas??
