WHat is the best way yto perform CRC check on a file from command line ?

Get a command-line utility to do the job. Googling it will reveal several. Same goes for MD5 and SHA-1 if you want those too.

It is not possible for anyone to acknowledge truth when their salary depends on them not doing it.
