Hi ya,
I've come across this problem before! Start PC (NT) the keyboard indicates that there is power(led), I can also press keys and enter bios. Then as soon as the NT logon screen begins it locks out the keyboard functions. HP base unit, HP keyboard etc.

Tried it going through a OMNIVIEW box. I can swap to a different PC unit using hotkeys on the locked out PC, the keyboard works fine on the new unit, but still cant enter the NT Logon on the original PC???

Now I'm very confused!

Any ideas?

ETHOS. X-)

Ethos,
There is something about those HP keyboards and NT that just isn't kosher. The HP keyboard uses a driver that goes bad every once in a while (thats my experience with them). My suggestion is that you plug another keyboard in a remove the keyboard driver and download the latest one for your machine and reinstall it. Or, you can just use another keyboard all together. Hope this helps!

It has been my experiences with HP computer equipment that it goes bad pretty often my advice would be to go get a new keyboard and install it on your computer. It would probally be the smartest thing also. Hopefully this will help.
