GF4 ti4400 video card

after bios, i hit f8 to tell the comp to manually boot from cd (win xp cd). it runs windows setup and loads all the basic device drivers, but after all that is loaded the system crashes giving me a blue screen "system will be shutdown to prevent damage". it says IRQL_not_less_or_equal. i was told to Disable shadowing and cache in BIOS, also to disable the onboard AV program in BIOS. i could not find any of these options in bios, so what should i do now?

That message is caused by incompatible hardware or device driver.

Remove all cards except the video card, and try again.
If that works, then install the remaining cards one at a time until the message reappears. The last card installed is the incompatible one.

If the above does not work, then there may be an incompatible mouse, KB, CD-ROM drive, etc.

boot sector virus protection is disabled by default, or at least its off now. the only card i have in there is my vid card (gf4 ti4400). i know its a compatable card cause i have the same card in my system which has the identical mobo. also, the kb or mouse cant be the prob. i doubt the cdrom has anything to do with it. this is really making me mad. im putting in my old 3dFX voodoo5 pci vid card in there to see if that does anything.
