We've recently upgraded from CR8.5 to CR9.

A report which was written in CR8.5 diplays the text object correctly. When opening in CR9, the content on the text object makes no sense, however, if you print the report the text is fine. Even more strange is that field objects using the same font/size display correctly.

This appears to be problem with the preview/design windows in CR9 for Text objects.

If you Zoom the view to 200%, the text looks ok, and if you increase the font size it looks ok.

Oh yeah, the font I'm using is r_ansi, which I've been reliably informed is a TTF.

Anyone else had this problem? Reebo

Haven't heard of this, what happens if you change the font to something standard?

Is the text rotated?

Perhaps there's another version of the r_ansi font available that will work?

I logged a call with Crystal, and if I goto printer setup and check 'No Printer' all looks ok.

I'm still getting info from Crystal as to why the hell this happens, so I'll keep you informed........ta ta for now! Reebo

I've had the same problem with Crystal 9. It did not occur in 8.5. I'll be watching for the answer.

OK.....got a response.

Crystal are claiming that because of the change in CR9 to handle UniCode it's down to the printer driver. I'm being told to get the latest version of my printer driver and everything will be fine.

I haven't tested this as yet because trying to change a standard build machine to incorporate a new printer driver will take forever to get through our Technical Services team! Reebo
