Using CR9 I have created a Horizontal Stacked bar chart in the Report header. Once I had created the chart I resized it to the size of roughly an A4 page because there would be roughly enough data there to fill the page.

Unfortunately the fonts became huge and any attempt to resize them fails, the labels for example appear to be font size 12 but when I set them using right-click->Chart Options->Selected Item to font size 4 (or any other font size) they remain the same.

I have created horizontal charts in CR9 before and don't remember having this problem, any suggestions appreciated.

Make the change in the design (not preview) tab and be sure to specify a MUCH smaller font. If the difference is not big enough, it seems that a multiplier (due to the resize) and a rounding algorithm causes the font to stay the same.

Dear Jambu,

You can also try setting the labels font size in the Chart Expert. Make sure that you have Automatically Set Chart Options unchecked on the main dialog. Go to the last tab (Text) and go to the bottom right and select the text item. You can set the font of items here to be smaller than 4 points and it will be reflected on the chart. I have often had to resort to a font size of 1.5 and 2.5 because of this same issue ...
