Hi ive got a report that uses multiple tables.

Im at the point where im adding another table that isnt linked to nay other table and just sits alone so I can fetch data from it that isnt related to the rest of the report.

I can add the table to my list but as soon as I add a field from the table CR just crashes.

Any idea's why this might be and is there a patch for CR7 about anywhere?

Im running 7.0.1.100

You have to either link the table to one of the other tables or insert a subreport which uses this table.

Crystal requires a single data source.

If the data is unrelated, then it's probably a subreport, or if it's in addition, consider creating a View to Union the data together.

CR7 isn't supported on XP. Here's an article that tells you how to set compatibility mode during installation.

Other than that, SV is right. If the table isn't linked and you need more than a single value returned, use a subreport. If you only need a single value, then use a SQL Expression (available in CR7).

You were right it was a linkage problem because i was using related fields
