CR 8.5 alerts -running rpt from VB6.0 using RDC

A report is created with a report alert. When the report is previewed in Crystal Designer, the alert is triggered, and I can view the alerts.
But when I try to run the same report from VB6 app using RDC control, I can view the report but the report alert is not triggered. (I am running against SQL Server 2000).
The alert is enabled (this option is checked in Report Options).
Has anyone tried to run reports with alert(s) using RDC 8.5 control

Yes, I've tried to run reports with alert(s) using RDC 8.5 control. And the answer is...

When I posted the above question, no one responded. I guess we are the only two people out there who would like to have alerts in RDC. I wish I could have helped. I'm going to follow this post with much interest.
