It may not be a windows 2000 thing, since it didn't do this before I formatted. Anyway, my computer "lags" when performing simple taks like minimizing/maximizing windows with the window animations turned on, and right clicking (the fade effect). My mouse sort of jerks and my CPU usage goes to about 60%, give or take about 10% depending.
Some things that do it that annoy me to no end:
Javascript menus (only some of the ones with lots of code I'm guessing)
CSS link styles onmouseover. Like mousing over a link and having CSS change the background colour to something will lag my comp
My box:
AMD Athlon 900Mhz (not overclocked or anything. No tweaks at all)
30GB HDD (if it's at all relevant)
Win2k SP-2
GeForce 2 MX-400 32mb
It MAY be the video card since it's new and I don't remember it doing this before that, but I do know it didn't do this when I installed the card originally. Only after a format did it start this nonsense.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated to no end. Thanks a million in advance!
