Can someone please tell me how I can find out what temperature my CPU is running at. My system periodically freezes at any given time. So I don't think it's a software thing. I've been hearing that my CPU may be running hot, but I can't seem to find out what temp it's running at. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Some BIOSs have a monitor thing in them, some motherboards come with a windows app to monitor processor temps, fan rpms etc.

Other random lockups could be lots of things.... memory, power supply etc

The motherboard has to have sensors (Winbond) on it so the temp can be read back. Do you have a section in the BIOS that shows temperatures/voltages/fan speeds?
If you do it indicates you have them and thus can download any of the free monitoring apps...SpeedFan and Motherboard Monitor are just 2.
What OS?

Have you looked in Event Viewer logs to see if there are error messages that may help you solve the problem?
How's about listing your hardware?
Granted, it could be hardware. But there are lots of software things that could also cause it.
Rule out all the software possibilities, then work on hardware.
