Hello all,
Recently I installed SQL server and have been working with it quite intensivly over the last few weeks. What I have noticed is that at least twice a day the CPU processes shoot up to 100 and stays like that for a few minutes. It is getting very frustrating. I am not running any other software on this comptuer and have dedicated it specifically to SQL yet it still happens. I noticed that this also happened on my personal workstation SQL server but I assumed it might be some other program I might have up or installed and I believed it was my end. But this same thing is happening on a stand alone SQL server. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? (I have the latest update patch of SQL 7 on this server and it is completely stand alone with no one else but me using it currently). I know it is definitly SQL server (according to the proccesses) so how do I fix it?

Thank you in advance,
Andrew

Check and read the articels on CASE Studies ...
Also, did you check the queries running at the time when the CPU uasge is high. It may be a case of bad or poor sql queries being run at the time...
Good luck.
