I have been looking everywhere I can think of to find a chart or graph of the decrease in performance of a CPU based on the temp of the unit.

I am trying to prove to a client that they are having cooling problems with their CPU, which is causing a slower system.

Any help would be great!

Typically, CPU overheating problems will not cause a slow down in speed, but a failure. Most CPU's can run anywhere from about 60-95 degrees C, depending upon the make. Exceeding that temperature will either destroy the chip or at least cause a temporary malfunction, but not a slow down of speed.

The newer Intel CPU's slow down when the CPU temp reaches a specified level, and will also shut down the system if it exceeds a max temp.

If the system is using a newer P4, then what is its temp?
