Help requested for basic setup of CP 100/150 Unified Messaging.
While I am very familier with Nortel & CP generally, Unified Messaging is a new challenge. The basic concept seems to be different than expected.
I expected that CP UM would send an email (of the voicemail just received) to the user, imply sending the email the user's email address, which would be stored on that server; for example, user@yahoo.com. Then the user would download it from their yahoo email server.
But it seems that CP UM *is* an email server (not an email client) and users must connect directly to the CP server to download voicemail/email. Right?
This--if true--presents issues:1)The CP "server" must be accessible from the outside internet to be seen by remote users; so there are firewall issues; 2) Users must access a second (CP) email server to download CP email; this requires a second server config in, say, Outlook; 3) This must be configured with IMAP.
Any guidance here would be appreciated!
