My problem:
A caller calls extension 7501 which has the voice mail setup as an auto attendant. The Caller can select option 1 for a certain group or option 2 for another group or stay on the line to leave a message. When option 1 is pressed the call goes to a phantom extension that has a coverage path with 2 answer groups. All of that works great but if no one answers the call in either of these 2 groups the call gets passed on to our front desk attendant which I don’t want. I would like this call to go to another Auto Attendant to give the caller other options. Why won't an auto attendant pick up when it is a point in a coverage path?

I've read all the posts I could find on a Coverage path & Auto Attendants, and haven't found a reason or a solution as to why an Extension with an Auto Attendant will not pickup when it is a point in a coverage path. What is the secret to get this to happen if possible? Please help. Thank-you.

>Call gets Auto Attd. for x7501
>Caller presses option 1 rings another x-ported ext (STA. X)
which goes to cover path xx
>cover path xx has
point 1 as C1
point 2 as C2
add point 3 as H99 (or what ever your voicemail HG is )
in your cover path

Add secondary Auto Attd as the same number as STA. X

Cheers

Thanks, that worked and now I also understand why it didn't in the past.
For this to be perfect what would be the key to get the caller to route back to extension 7501 to either leave a message or go through the route again with the answer groups. So basically just loop it. If you have any thought on what it would take, I would be greatly appreciative. I have a diagram of the current route if that would help. I can e-mail if needed. Please let me know, Thanks

Avayanut64,

Thanks again for help with this. I was able to loop the route so everything is function perfectly with the second AutoAttd timing out right away. Everything is working the way I planned it. I really appreciate your help with this. Once again the information & support shared on site is invaluable!!
