counting tables in MS Access DB

I know it's an SQL statement to read records in an MS Access database, but I believe I need to use perl to count the number of tables in a database.

Like SQL, I can use Perl and read record from a specific table in a database but does anyone know how to access MS Access, select a database and then count the tables in it?

%perldoc dbi
