couldn't see computer icons

i couldn't see the icons(all) in the computer,instead of that black square box appears.

had this problem before and an Installiation of AutoCAD did the trick somehow???? I think cause it updates Internet Explorer, so maybe try installing IE5 or a program with it on it and restarting your PC....looooong shot but might just work!!! Jay~
