Ladies and Gentlemen!
I have several directories on my NT 4 server that cause it to crash when they are scanned or accessed. Attempting to delete via windows causes a crash. Trying remove dir via DOS simply causes an error.
Any ideas? Any utilities?

Thanks for any assist.

Is there any messages in the NT logs?

You could try...

Open Windows Explorer, right click on the effected drive (Driver C:?) then click Properties and then the Tools tab. Click the disk scan and see if it fixes any problems.

Any scan will crash the server. The data is corrupt. There is nothing in the system logs of any value. I can move the folders within the same drive which never really touches the data.
All I want is to waste/trash these corrupt folders. I am not concerned about recovering the data.

Again, thanks for all input. -- Devil Dog --

DO a CHKDSK C: /F /V. Answer 'Yes to the question of doing a check disk next boot' , and reboot.

If the data is on another drive use CHKDSK and change the drive letter accordingly..
