When we were using only 1 memo field we never
seemed to have a problem with the text content.
We enhanced the system which now has 10 memo fields
in the single record... and now we are constantly
losing part of the texts in any of the memo fields.

Only the System Administrator can alter the texts
using MEMOEDIT(). Users specify a digit between 0-9
which is used to select the relevant memo field...
the texts from the selected field is added to each
new data entry record.

The control record is never affected by PACK. What
else could be causing the loss of textual data?

what type dbf's are you using?
I recall dBaseIII+ working differently that Clipper dbf's regarding dbt support.

Database created with dBASEIII+
No index used on this single record database

Hope you have fixed this by now, but on the off chance you haven't... DBT's as part of dBaseIII are really fragile at best, and I think Ashton-Tate stated that only 1 memo field per record is supported. So, you may be pushing it with the multiple memo fields.
Can you change the dbf type, like Clipper, in stead of DBIII?
