Hi i have a lim that have a failed hdu-7 and worse is that the lic file that i have saved is corrupt how can i get a copy of the original lic file can i post the EIC number to ericsson and get a copy in return i am not a reseller so how do i get in contact with some one that can help

Corrupt LIC file

Hi
You should go via your reseller to have the copy of the LIC file.
But if your system is still running, you can just change disk and make a backup.
the LIC file is loaded from the disk just to warn the system what is allow and what is not. This is done one time and after you can erase the LIC file from the disk.
If you need to add more ressources, you will receive a new LIC file, so it is not important if you are,missing it on the disk.
However, if your system is power off and the disk is crashed, you will need a PCREGEN, the INL+LIMDISP file and the LIC file to rebuild your system from the beginning, and normally only your reseller is teached to do so.

Hi my problem is that i have bought 2 BC11 ACM LIM and tought i hade a safe copy on both systems the systems are almost identical its only one more elu-28 in one of the 2 system so i have a system with the same release so i should be able to make an INL and transfeer it to a new HDU-7 card in the failed system but as i said i am a happy technican that has been working with the smaller Business phone for 15 years but as a technical freak i have MD110 as my home pbx system together with some bp exchanges so what i need is that lic file that belongs with the niu in the failed system what info do i have to transfer to E to get the file is it enough with the EIC code or should i send a printout of the licens file including site name most thankfull for all help i can get! you wrote LIM disp can i get it from my working lim? or is it that extra extension card causing trouble

forgott to write that yes worst case is that the system was powered down so no possible chans to save the lic file tought i had downloaded both lic files but i had onley downloaded it from the system that still is running i have REL1 and REL2 backup have i any use of them?

1/Ericsson deliver a so called IPA number that is attached to each system.
So you have 2 BC11 ACM system, you should have 2 LIC files (one for each) that represent the licenses you have bought. It is not possible to use the licenses of System A on System B.

2/When you connect a blank HDU to a system, the system will not start, as it looks for a specify directory such as
/SYSN/USR1/SES/DR/REL1 or /SYSN/USR1/SES/DR/REL2, or /SYSN/USR1/SES/DR/INL to start the system. This directories contain the SW of the system.
Therefore you can access to the NIU board only via NIUX which is the board SW controler (to configure the IP adress or the EIC code for example).
3/To start a system, you need 4 things
A/INL that contain the MD Software
B/LIMDISP that tell to the system where is connected the LIM (when there is a Group Switch or a 2 LIM system) and in which LIM is loaded the specific SW called 'Common Function'
C/You need the LIC file delivered by Ericsson dedicated to that system
D/YOu need a FTP SW such as MDDT or any FTP SW
INL+Limdisp are available throught Knowledge Base from Ericsson if you can access to it; otherwise you should go via your reseller

you can dump your own INL by doing DUSII;
INL will reside in /SYSN/USR1/SES/DR/INL
you can FTP it from the HDU if you want...
