I have a hard drive that has information I want to access. Is it possible to install the drive on another system thats running XP without formating it? The hard drive itself also has XP on it.
Yes of course, just set the jumpers on this hard drive to slave and connect (piggy back middle of the cable) with the host on the primary IDE cable.
Just make sure the first boot device in the bios is the host IDE 0 so it doesn't try to boot from the added HD.
Then just use Windows Explorer to transfer files across to your host. Martin
