See the "Cleansweep messed up my explorer" post. Keep in mind the error message does not say IEXPLORER. It says Explorer. It also says WEBCHECK which is NOT mentioned on the Symantec Service & Support. I DID
EXPLORER caused an exception 6d007fH in module WEBCHECK.DLL at
016f:78b32599.

Geeze...I am starting to feel stupid now! :(

I don't know if this will help but I'll throw my two cents in. First I would uninstall Clean Sweep entirely. If you can't do it in Windows(Normal mode) then boot up in Safe mode and then uninstall it. Next you might try installing IE Explorer 5.0 or 5.5. I know your getting a windows explorer error but often IE is so tightly integrated into the OS that it may actually repair the damaged files. Another option would be to go to Microsoft and do a search for the error your getting. I hope this provides some help with your problem.

I am going to try installing IE again IF I can get connected to the very busy download sites. So far I have not been successful.
As for Microsoft's site, that is a bit of a touchy place to go. They have so much that it is confusing at times. I spent 2 hours searching yesterday and I got nowhere. Sometimes I would click a link and it would do nothing at all as with the "pay per incident" link. It would simply not connect for some reason.
I do know RegClean is supposed to make an UNDO file, but I found no evidence of this on my computer even using the Find feature and different variations on the search. It definately IS RegClean. I know where the file is. Unfortunately I seem to have downloaded myself a lemon or something.
Thank you for your help. If anyone else has suggestions, reply with another post. I really do appreciate it!
