Hi!

Many of our clients are outside our location, and they run the applications from remote offices via internet.

One application (MapInfo MapX 4.5) displays maps based on
raster images (large images), located on the server, thus transmitted to the clients via web. What I would like to do is to locate the maps images on the client PC's, and then change the path to the maps to "read" the image located on the \\localclient\c:\maps (example) reducing the transmission of the map via web.

Do I need to just change the path (please help me with the correct sintax) or I need to specify some setting of MetaFrame?

Thnaks,

I think that would be an extremely bad idea. You would then be trying to access the client network which is slow at the very best of times. It would mean the citrix box reading the client drive info and loading into citrix memory that way. That would be slower than a slow thing.

Thanks!

Let me see if I understand: If I load the image on the client computer, would that means, that Citrix would, instead of reading on the server, it would look for the image on the client, then load the image via internet onto the application, and then return the image back to the client?

In that case I understand that it would be much worst...
Is this what you sustain?

Thanks again!

Yup thats about the extent of it. Twice the mileage for your data. Always always keep your data close to the citrix server, but not on them.
