Can anyone help? When I try to open images that a have been saves as bmp files in corel draw 4. I receive the following message:

One of the library files needed to run program is damaged. To repair damage reinstall this program.

Is this asking to reinstall Corel 4 and it will remedy the fault?
And is the fault an eliminated DLL file?

Please help?

Another user posted this. It works. Norton Antivirus uses
this same file name. However, if you just rename zlib.dll in windows\system then it works and you can later rename it back to get the antivirus working.

I had the same problem with Corel Draw 4.

The reason was that I had run the Web-based virus scan by McAffee. This system installs a DLL named 'zlib.dll' in the windows/system directory. Corel Draw 4 uses a DLL with the same name, but places it in it's program directory. When Corel Draw 4 starts up it asks Windows to get the DLL of this name ready - and Windows looks first in it's system directory and Corel Draw can't identify this DLL of the same name but different contents and hence stops.

Get rid of the 'zlib.dll' in the system directory and Corel Draw will work just fine - only McAffee no longer. Your choice...
