How do you (or can you) make a copy of an Audio CD in Windows XP Pro?

Thanks

Use Real Player or winmedia player to get the files off the cd in mp3 or whatever you want them in then just buy nero and burn an audio cd.
However unless you own the stuff you are breaking copywrite and i know certain members of this forum frown upon such activities.

If you have nero you can just make a copy.
(for archive purposes only)...

So basically you can not do it in XP alone? You have to have some kind of third party software?

FYI, these are copies for personal collection so I do not have to keep taking the CD from one changed in my house, to another in my car, to another at my office. I do not believe that violate any copyright laws, but I could be wrong as I am not a lawyer and if I find out it is breaking the law, I will just destroy the copies.

Thanks!

If you could get a 'cd-ripper' that would take the files off the CD in the CDA format then you could in theory use XP's burn program.
However i think this would again require third party software.
I would say Nero is your best bet download the trial and give it a go it is SO easy!

Maybe i'm wrong I don;t remember but if you have a single burner drive and you are taking tracks from a cd I do the following.

Make a directory My cd

Put your cd in in and copy the files to the folder. You wont be able to put then in any kind of order I dont think. Default alfa numerics.

when you have them all there remove the cd and insert a cd-r drag the files to the drive and it should note that you have files ready to write to the cd. click the baloon and wait. I'll check tommorow at work and let ya know.

You can also burn a cd (easier) from windows media player.
