Copy/Save report in .doc or.pdf 1

Hi folks,

Can someone help me how to save a report as read-only document, so that if there's any change in the module, the reports of the past months will have electronic copies.

I would look into the SnapShot format built into Access. It preserves reports exactly as they come out in a file and the viewer is free from Microsoft. Word won't preserve the report perfectly and PDF requires that you have Adobe Acrobat on the system and the necessary coding to manipulate the printer object, etc.. (read: a real pain

Hi Joe,

does it mean that if the function to run the report is changed in certain period, for instance as the business rule is changing,
when I rerun the report for March in June (the function code has been changed as of May), I can get a new report for March which is exactly the same as the report I ran in March?
(Means the new rule is not being executed for that month)

My understanding was you need a way to print a report and "freeze" an electronic copy of the printed report. If this holds true, printing to a SnapShot file will do just that. SnapShot is an unmodifiable replica of a printed Access report in another file format (.SNP). So if you print the SnapShot, you have your copy and can change whatever you need to because the SnapShot will not be affected by any changes to the main database.

Thanks for the idea, now I'll be working on how to do this. Tell you the truth, it's my first time knowing about .snp
I just know snapshot view....
