copy master page doc-to-doc

Anybody know if there's a way to copy a master page from one document to another existing document, short of copy and paste? Thanks,

make a template??? Just start every new document with that template?? ?

No, both are existing documents. What I'm trying to do is something like "append" to suck master pages from one doc or template into another doc.
