I am looking to rebuild a server. I want to copy the folders and files with the shared attributes and read/write permissions to a NAS and then copy them back to the new array. What is the best way to accomplish this. Thanks!

Or you could just do a standard backup with permissions then a restore with permissions.

Which doesn't do anything as far as shares and sharing permissions, as noted in the original post.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

I have Windows 2003 Standard Edition SP2. I don't believe I can use Microsoft File Server Migration Tool 1.2. Are any of the older verisons avaliable some place?
Thanks.
