Copy default user profile to other computers

I've created a default user profile I'd like to put on other computers in my school's lab. How do I copy it to another computer on the network?

You should explore the difference between a local profile, a roaming profile and a mandatory profile to see which is the best fit for your needs.

Forum member manarth will likely chime in, as he has in the past for workstations in your setting. A keyword search on profiles will likely turn up earlier discussions of the difficulties/issues/etc faced in your setting. There have been some excellent ones dealing with disk space usage among other issues.

Thanks -- I followed that procedure to create the default profile initially on one computer. I was able to successfully copy the files to a network computer by overwriting all files in the DefaultUsers profile. So my original question has been answered.

I understand your point about roaming/mandatory profiles. I have been researching them. I'm totally confused!!

Here's my situation: We're beginning to replace WIN98 computers with new WINXP Pro ones all over our school. We have 550 students each with his/her own log on. The way I understand it, each user who logs on in WINXP creates a local profile when s/he logs on. I would like to avoid having hundreds of profiles on each computer in our lab! I tried roaming profiles, but it still created a local copy of the profile.

Someone out there must know what I can do! THanks!
