I am using Access 2002 and trying to copy and paste a column of numbers from a query into excel. The format of the column in Access is "General Number", but when the numbers are pasted into Excel they appear with a green triangle in the corner of the cell saying that they have been stored as text and I have to manually change them to a number format.

This seems to be a new thing with Access and Excel 2003 versions as it didn't happen before I "upgraded".

Can anyone advise me on what I can do to ensure that numbers are copied "as numbers"?

Thanks

Try exporting the query results to Excel including the "save formatted" option. You can choose which column(s) to include.

Perform the query from Excel using Data/Get External data/New Query -- Access fiels...

It can be refershed AUTOMATICALLY on workbook open using the Data/Data Range Properties window.
