I have a documents text flowing throughout 40 pages, without making a pdf is it possible to copy and paste these files into another document (grid for print?) When I try it wont let me break the text link.

If you are trying to copy and paste text from text boxes that are linked to each other to a text box on a new document then there would be no problem.
If you want to break the link between two boxes then you can use the UNLINK tool in the toolbox. Just click the unlink tool and click the textbox which is linked, this action will break the link between the boxes.

Note: Copy and Paste commands do not break links between Textboxes. Please use the UNLINK tool.
