Hello:

(I'm repeating this thread from another forum after several days with no reply.) [hourglass]

Whenever I copy a backend .mdb (the one with all the tables), I cannot use the front end to modify any data. I can go directly to the copied tables, open and modify the data. But when I try to use the front end forms, I get the "this database is not updatable" error.

I've tried this with db's copied from cd's, zip drives, FTP from the web, and have the same result.

Would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance,

Gus[/tt]

Well I can't see any reason for the problem coming from zip drives or FTP but any database copied from a CD becomes read-only and has to have its properties changed.

Hi:

Got it! %-) (This usually happens in the shower.)

I used the linked table manager, refreshed the links to the back end, and cured the problem.

Hope this will help someone else.

Cheers.[/tt]

How are ya gusbrunston . . . . .

Copy the DB to the hard drive first, then [blue]check the file properties in windows explorer[/blue]. I suspect the [blue]Read Only[/blue] attribute is enabled!

Yep. I posted above your reply...it must have crossed in the tunnel. Here it is again:
