cookie domain with IP address causing errors

I just switched over to a development server using IP address and no domain name. I have set a variable cookiedomain in the application.cfm which is used throughtout the site to set the domain for cookies. When I had it running off a domain name it work perfectly, after switching to an IP address, I get an error sayings its an Invalid Domain attribute.

Any suggestions on how to get the IP address to work? Thanks.
