I am building a custom Enterprise solution to distribute to my customer base and am developing in CE 8.5, using CR 8.5. I need to supply a standard library of reports, as well as a library of formula for re-use. I cannot use dictionaries to use of a UFL.
I may have many reports that have the same formula used over, but in 8.5, they are each a seperate instance. I will also likely use report templates to 'store' forumala for 'resuse' for now.
When I upgrade to 9.0, how can I: a) update all 8.5 reports so that objects that are 'shared' across reports are placed in the repository as one truly shared object, or will each report need to be rewritten. b) Is there a mechanism to update the new object repository via my 8.5 report template of formula ?
Is there a better way for me to create a report and formula library now in 8.5 that would lead to a better migration path to 9.0 and the object repository ? Waiting to upgrade to 9.0 is not an option.
I assume I'll also need to republish all reports to CE.
