Hi everyone,

Is there a way to convert a powerpoint file to .eps?

I have a two page brochure that was designed in powerpoint (not my doing but never the less I have to deal with it)and I have to get it into an .eps format to send to the graphics company who uses Macs. I need to get his done by Friday at noon. I am pc based, using Powerpoint 2000.

Anyone know of a plug-in and where to find it, or ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL HELP! LOL.

My fervent thanks to any and all who can help.

Wow, that really is not good that you will print from this output. Of course the quality for prepress will depend on the quality of the graphics (if any)that were used in the PPT file. What you can do is SAVE AS, and select TIF output for the 2 pages. Then you can open the tifs in Photoshop or similar editing software and then re-save (after any enhancements) to an .eps file. Your biggest problem will be resolution and colour quality (CMYK) for prepress output.

Pixelchik, thanks for the quick reply. I know, I know...been trying to figure it out in-between other jobs today. I will try the export to .tif then bring it into Photoshop and save as .eps. The original graphics were .tiff, but they were too large, so he dropped them down to .jpg.

I think I will try your suggestion and get back to you as soon as I can.

Again, thanks so much ! Lanie

Although there are FAQs that say that this can't be done directly, this is worth a try:

First install a PostScript printer under your printers folder (such as Xerox Document Centre 340 PS). It should be readily available under Win2K. Install this as a local printer.

-In PPT using Page Setup set the size u wish to print (to get ur aspect ratio)
-Then, go to File, Print.
-Select Print to file option
-Under printer name, select the PS printer
-Click the Properties button
-Click on Advanced button
-Expand PostScript Options
-Click on PostScript Output Option
-From the DropDown select Encapsulated PostScript (EPS)
-under paper size select PostScript Custom Size Page
- set it to something larger than the size used in Page Setup. Keep in mind the printer margins (u need to consider cropping boundaries). The graphic is going to be centered on the printed page.
- set Postscript language level to 1
- lastly, u need to save the file. Set the "Save as type:" option to All files (*.*). This is to avoid renaming prn file to eps file. Save the file, and remember to type the eps extension in the filename.

Please let me know how u make out
