It depends upon what type of reports you are trying to
convert. Classify your reports into something like
simple, medium and complex. Simple reports usually
contains some metrics, filters and some formatting for
which you can allocate an 8 hour timeframe. Medium
contains some reports with many attributes, metrics,
custom groups, etc and has some compound, partially
complex metrics for which you might have to dedicate
around 24 hrs and you might have to allocate 40 hours
for complex reports where you have to consolidate
different reports to generate a particular report or
when you have some complex customization and formatting.
These are only estimates and in your case you might have
to look into details on your reports to arrive at a
more closer estimate. Remember you will not be getting
the same layout and the approach especially with respect
to how the reports were run, drilling, layouts, page by
etc. so the users have to be trained on the tool to get
their satisfaction. This estimate does not take into
account the time required to create those objects and
only includes report creation and testing. If you have
to include even the objects then you might need another
160 man hours.
