i have alot of important information on my laptop. if i convert fat32 to ntfs will i lose my information. Also what is the correct procedure in doing this.
you will not lose any information, If you convert to NTFS, you will not be able to access the hard drive in DOS. so if you have a system failure, it's a little more complicated to get to things, but it's doable.
to convert to ntfs
start run cmd
convert /FS:NTFS
then restart. it'll take place after the next restart.

Well don't worry you aren't going to lose any information that you already have. This is the command you need to run from the command prompt (start > run > cmd)
